Step-by-step instructions:
- Locate the puncture - Listen for the hissing sound of escaping air. If the puncture is slow, spray soapy water on the tyre and look for bubbles forming. Mark the location with your finger or a pen.
- Remove the debris - Use pliers or your fingers to pull out any embedded objects (thorns, glass shards, nails). Be careful not to enlarge the hole.

Assess the damage - Check the size and location of the puncture:
- Tread area, <6mm: Use plug method
- Tread area, >6mm: Use patch method or insert tube
- Sidewall: Not repairable with plugs—insert tube
- Ream the hole - Insert the reamer tool (looks like a file on a handle) into the puncture. Push it in and out 5-10 times with a twisting motion. This roughens the hole edges and removes debris, helping the plug bond better. The hole should feel slightly larger and cleaner.
- Prepare the plug - Take a tubeless repair plug (looks like a sticky rubber worm) and thread it through the eye of the insertion tool. Pull it through until equal lengths hang on both sides of the tool (about 2-3cm each side).
- Insert the plug - Push the insertion tool (with plug loaded) straight into the puncture hole. Push firmly until only 5-10mm of the plug remains visible outside the tyre. You should feel resistance as the plug enters the tyre casing.
- Remove the insertion tool - Grip the plug with one hand to hold it in place. With your other hand, pull the insertion tool straight out with a quick, firm motion. The plug should remain in the tyre while the tool slides out.
- Trim the excess - Use a sharp knife or scissors to trim the plug flush with the tyre surface. Don't cut too deep—leave 1-2mm protruding for best seal.
- Inflate the tyre - Use a CO2 inflator or pump to re-inflate the tyre to riding pressure. Check immediately for air leaks around the plug.
- Check the seal - Spray soapy water on the plug. If you see bubbles, the plug may be weeping slightly. This is normal and should seal within 30 seconds as the sealant works.
- Add sealant if needed - If the plug continues to weep after 1 minute, remove the valve core and inject 30ml of fresh sealant through the valve. Rotate the wheel to distribute sealant around the plug area.
- Test ride - Ride for 5 minutes and recheck pressure. The repair should hold indefinitely if done correctly.
Patch Method (For Larger Punctures)

Step-by-step instructions:
- Remove the tyre - Deflate completely and use tyre levers to remove one side of the tyre from the rim. You don't need to remove the tyre completely—just enough to access the inside.
- Locate the puncture from inside - Find the hole on the inside of the tyre casing. Mark it with a pen.

- Reinstall the tyre - Mount the tyre back onto the rim, ensuring the bead is properly seated.
- Add fresh sealant - Remove the valve core and inject 60-90ml of fresh sealant (the old sealant was lost during repair).
