2. TUBELESS REPAIR PLUG TOOL
Trail-Side Tubeless Puncture Repair:
- Locate puncture - Listen for air hiss or inspect tyre
- Prepare plug - Thread rubber plug strip through tool eye
- Insert tool - Push plug tool firmly into puncture hole (tyre can stay on rim)
- Seat plug - Push until 5-10mm of plug remains outside
- Remove tool - Twist the tool 180 degrees,Pull tool straight out, leaving plug in hole
- Trim excess - Cut plug flush with tyre surface
- Re-inflate - Use E-Pump or mini pump to restore pressure
- Check seal - Spin wheel and check for leaks
Tips:
- Works on cuts up to 6mm
- Sealant will seal around plug
- Carry 3-5 spare plug strips
- For larger cuts, use a tyre boot or tube
3. CHAIN SPLITTER TOOL
Breaking & Rejoining Chains:
To Remove Chain:
- Shift to smallest cog (rear) and smallest chainring (front)
- Position chain in splitter tool groove
- Align tool pin with chain pin
- Turn handle clockwise to push pin almost through (leave 1mm attached for non-quick-link chains)
- Flex chain to separate
To Rejoin (with Quick Link):
- Thread chain through derailleur and around cassette/chainring
- Insert quick link through both chain ends
- Snap quick link plates together
- Pull chain tight to seat quick link (pedal hard or use quick link pliers)
Quick Link Pliers Use:
- Squeeze handles to compress quick link for easy removal
- Essential for 11/12-speed chains
4. CO2 PUMP & CARTRIDGES
Fast Inflation:
- Prepare: Unscrew Presta valve core cap, open valve
- Attach CO2 head to valve (ensure tight seal)
- Thread cartridge onto pump head
- Pierce & inflate: Screw cartridge fully in to release CO2
- Control flow: Partial turns = slower inflation (better control)
- Detach quickly: CO2 cartridge will freeze - use with caution
Cartridge Guide:
- 16g = Road tyre (700×25c) to ~100 PSI
- 20g = Gravel (700×40c) to ~50 PSI
- 25g = MTB (29×2.3) to ~30 PSI
Warning: CO2 leaks faster than air - top up with regular pump within 24 hours
5. HIGH-PRESSURE TWO-WAY MINI PUMP
Dual-Action Pumping:
- Push stroke = air in
- Pull stroke = air in (2× faster than standard pumps)
Use:
- Extend pump to full length
- Attach Presta head (flip head for Schrader if compatible)
- Lock head onto valve
- Pump with smooth, full strokes
- Check pressure periodically (no gauge - use feel/squeeze test)
Efficiency:
- ~150 strokes for road tyre (80 PSI)
- ~80 strokes for MTB tyre (30 PSI)
6. OKO HIGH FIBRE RACE FORMULA SEALANT
Tubeless Setup & Top-Up:
Initial Installation (per tyre):
- Road (700×25-32c): 30-40ml
- Gravel (700×35-50c): 40-60ml
- MTB (27.5/29×2.0-2.5): 60-90ml
Application Methods:
Method A - Through Valve (easiest):
- Remove valve core with valve cap tool
- Shake sealant bottle vigorously
- Attach sealant injector or bottle nozzle to valve
- Inject measured amount
- Reinstall valve core
- Inflate and rotate wheel to distribute
Method B - Tyre Off:
- Remove one tyre bead from rim
- Pour sealant into tyre cavity
- Reseat tyre bead
- Inflate and rotate
Maintenance:
- Top up every 3-6 months (sealant dries out)
- Shake wheel - if you hear liquid sloshing, sealant is still active
- Replace annually for best performance
7. RATCHET SET (1/4")
Multi-Bit Tool System:
Included bits (typical):
- Hex/Allen keys: 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm
- Torx: T10, T25, T30
- Screwdriver: Flat, Phillips
Use:
- Select appropriate bit for bolt
- Insert bit into ratchet head (magnetic hold)
- Set ratchet direction (lever on head)
- Turn handle - ratchet allows fast tightening without repositioning
Common Trail Repairs:
- Derailleur adjustments (5mm hex)
- Brake caliper bolts (5mm hex)
- Stem/handlebar bolts (4-6mm hex)
- Bottle cage bolts (4mm hex)
8. TYRE LEVERS
Removing & Installing Tyres:
Removal:
- Deflate tyre completely
- Push tyre bead into rim center channel (both sides)
- Insert lever under bead, hook onto spoke
- Insert second lever 10cm away, slide around rim
- Remove one side, then the other
Installation:
- Insert one bead by hand (no levers needed)
- Start second bead by hand
- Work around rim - use lever only for final 20cm if tight
- Check bead is seated evenly before inflating
Tip: Avoid pinching tube (if using) between lever and rim
9. DUMMY HUB
Chain Storage & Transport:
Use:
- Remove rear wheel for transport/cleaning
- Insert dummy hub into rear dropouts
- Thread chain around dummy hub cog
- Keeps chain tensioned and derailleur protected
- Prevents chain damage and frame scratches
10. FRONT MTB MUDGUARD
Installation:
- Position: Align mudguard under down tube, just behind front tyre
- Attach: Clip or strap guard to fork crown/down tube (tool-free)
- Adjust angle: Ensure 10-15mm clearance from tyre
- Secure: Tighten straps - guard should not move under vibration
