How to Add Tubeless Sealant
1. Prepare Your Tubeless Setup
Ensure your rims are properly taped with tubeless rim tape and tubeless valves are installed. Mount one bead of your tubeless-ready tyre onto the rim.
2. Choose Your Method
Through the valve (recommended): Remove the valve core using a valve core removal tool. Attach a sealant injector and inject the appropriate amount. Reinstall the valve core.
Direct pour: Before mounting the second bead completely, pour sealant directly into the tyre, then finish mounting the bead.
3. Sealant Quantities
- Road tyres: 60-80ml
- Gravel tyres: 80-100ml
- MTB tyres: 80-120ml (depending on tyre volume)
4. Seat and Distribute
Inflate to your desired pressure (typically 10-20% lower than with tubes). Rotate and shake the wheel vigorously to distribute sealant evenly around the tyre and seal any small gaps. You may see sealant weeping through the tyre casing - this is normal and will seal within minutes.
5. Final Check
Leave the wheel horizontal for 10-15 minutes to allow the sealant to pool and seal the bead interface. Check pressure after 24 hours and top up if needed. Some initial pressure loss is normal as the system fully seals.
