The chain whip holds a compatible cassette against rotation while the correctly matched lockring tool engages the lockring. Removing the cassette can provide access for cleaning, inspection or replacement.

Check compatibility before ordering
Match the lockring tool interface to your exact cassette and check axle clearance and chain whip suitability. Brand name or number of gears alone does not establish compatibility. Do not assume this set fits every Shimano, SRAM or Campagnolo system.
Cassettes and screw-on freewheels may require different removal tools. Confirm which system your wheel uses before choosing this kit.
Using the kit
Follow your cassette and wheel manufacturers’ service instructions. Ensure the correct tool is fully engaged before applying force. A suitable wrench or driver may also be required to turn the lockring tool; check the drive interface before starting.
For reinstallation, use the component manufacturer’s specified procedure and torque with an appropriate torque tool. If you are unsure about fit or use, ask a qualified bicycle mechanic.
Cassette, wheel, wrench and torque tool are not included.
