Check valve compatibility
Confirm that your Presta valve has a removable core and that the tool slot correctly engages its flats. Not all Presta valves have removable cores. Cap-thread fit and tool-slot fit must both suit your particular valve.
The slot is the tool feature; the cap threads are for fitting the cap and should not be treated as a mechanism for gripping or extracting a core.
Use with care
Follow the valve manufacturer’s service instructions, including releasing pressure before removing a core. Engage the slot fully and do not force a seized or poorly fitting core.
Refit the core and cap according to manufacturer guidance, avoiding over-tightening, then check inflation and for leaks before riding. The cap is not a repair for a leaking or damaged valve.
